Chandelle and Leigh - A Sweet Union on the North Shore

One look at Chandelle and Leigh’s wedding and you know they don’t take themselves too seriously. With a soft sage and chocolate brown color palette, their wedding coordinator, Alia Kennedy of Parasol Events, created an atmosphere of elegance and whimsy at the Turtle Bay Resort. Self-proclaimed “candy addicts” whose “kitchen pantry looks like a candy store”, Chandelle and Leigh decided to make this one sweet event, and offered their 75 guests a bevy of sweet options, including a candy bar and a 4-tier fondant, 4-flavor, wedding cake. Placed amidst their favorite edible goodies was a bobble-head version of Chandelle and Leigh. So cute! Like kids let loose in a candy shop, their guests were treated to as many candies as they could fit in the sage and white drawstring bags.

Both their ceremony and reception took place at the lovely Turtle Bay Resort, a beautiful venue overlooking the ocean on the North Shore (also the shooting location for the film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”) The perfectly coordinated couple and their wedding party looked elegant in white, chocolate brown and sage, and for that unexpected color “pop”, florist Fong Tagawa of Floral Inspirations incorporated pink toned daisies for Chandelle’s bouquet. Daisies were prominent in the centerpieces, the ceremonial aisle, bouquets and wedding favors, which were thin vases containing a single pink daisy with the guest’s name and table number.

Even with all the sweetness of daisies and candy, it was their two little bundles of joy (see photo) that melted our hearts.

Their custom sage and white colored table linens and sashes were provided by Naomi Lee of Les Saisons, and Chrissy Lambert was hired to photograph every perfectly coordinated detail of the wedding. For their cake, we kept the patterns less busy to play up the contrast of the colors and the height and unusual shape of the cake. Leigh and Chandelle chose a different flavor for each tier of their cake -- Lemon Pucker, Hawaii Five-0, Hot Fudge Sundae and Strawberries Chantilly.

Praise from Chandelle: “Our cake was the talk of the night and people are still talking about it. Everyone that looks at my pictures always comments on how cool my cake was.”

Many thanks to Chandelle and Leigh for providing the photos and including us in their Big Day. Wishing you and your family all the best! – Sasha & Rick
